Smoke Testing the Sewer System, 2024

To the Citizens of Needville:

On October 2023, the city of Needville advertised a bid for smoke testing the sanitary sewer system to detect infiltration of water. In December 2023, city council awarded a contract to Kleen Environmental. Through the smoke testing process, smoke may be seen in and around homes if breaks are detected in the sanitary sewer line. The Needville Fire Department has been notified about the smoke test. Notice to proceed was given for January 8, 2024 with smoke testing scheduled to last through April 2024. Door notices will be distributed to residents when smoke testing is scheduled in the area to explain the smoke test. Please see the schedule and map lay out for smoke testing below.
